Does Funimation Accept Temporary Email?
Sometimes — Funimation has been merged into Crunchyroll, but legacy accounts still exist. Temp email acceptance varies but newer domains generally work.
Funimation merged with Crunchyroll in 2024, and new signups are redirected to Crunchyroll. Legacy Funimation accounts can still be accessed but the platform is no longer accepting new registrations independently.
For new anime streaming signups, Crunchyroll is the destination. See the Crunchyroll entry for current temp email acceptance details.
Existing Funimation accounts that used temp emails may have been migrated to Crunchyroll during the merger. If you had a Funimation account, check if you can log in to Crunchyroll with the same credentials.
The merger consolidated Sony's anime streaming under one platform. This simplified the landscape for anime fans but also concentrated the email validation rules under Crunchyroll's system.
If you had a Funimation premium subscription, it should have been migrated to a Crunchyroll premium subscription. Contact Crunchyroll support if the migration did not happen automatically.
Tips
