Does Viber Accept Temporary Email?
No — Viber uses phone numbers for registration, not email addresses. Account creation requires SMS or call verification of a phone number.
Viber, the messaging and VoIP app owned by Rakuten, uses phone number verification for all account creation. Email is not part of the registration process.
The app activates when you verify your phone number via SMS code. There is no email field during setup, and no email is associated with your Viber account by default.
Viber offers free calls and messaging between Viber users, plus paid Viber Out calls to non-Viber numbers. Payment for Viber Out credit uses in-app purchase or credit card, not email-based billing.
For privacy, Viber offers end-to-end encryption for one-on-one chats and calls by default. Group chats can also be encrypted. The privacy model does not involve email at any point.
Viber communities (group chats with up to 1 billion members) can be joined without revealing your phone number to other members. This is Viber's approach to contact privacy within the platform.
